Early Years Age 2 1/2 to 5

At Clasam Preschool, we are aimed at ensuring our children grow in an atmosphere that is tender and homely while still being supportive and accepting. We encourage independence, problem solving with peers, self-help skills, working together to solve problems and being a loved member of a group. Each day is a new opportunity for learning and discovery with activities to promote individual growth, academically, socially, emotionally, physically and morally.

Beyond academics – social and emotional well-being also plays a significant role in a child’s development. Our curriculum, various activities, and daily experiences provides our learners with opportunities for a fun, enriching and exciting time while they make long lasting relationships.

Clasam Preschool provides learners with a life-long love of learning, a positive attitude towards new discoveries, and readiness to take risks. We at Clasam School, assist all learners to play, interact, and explore through a variety of developmentally appropriate activities that provide the practice of new skills in multiple ways.

A. UNIQUE CHILD

At Clasam School, we recognize every child is a unique child, who is constantly learning and developing in individual ways and at varying rates. Our Early Years foundation teachers understand and observe each child’s development and learning, assess individual progress and then use the information to plan for subsequent steps or support the child to develop a positive sense of own identity and culture. Children’s attitudes and dispositions to learning are influenced by our praise and inspiration.

B. POSITIVE RELATIONSHIPS

Our children learn to be strong and independent through our Positive relationships.

C. ENABLING ENVIRONMENT

Clasam school children learn and develop well in enabling environments, in which their involvements respond to their individual needs and there is a strong collaboration between the teachers and parents.

The Early Years Foundation Stage area is organised to allow children to explore and learn within a secure and safe environment. There are places where the children can be active, be quiet and rest. Children are encouraged to find and locate equipment and resources independently.

D. LEARNING AND DEVELOPMENT

Children develop and learn in different ways. Clasam School embraced the EYFS framework, which involves the education and care of all children in Reception.

As teachers, we teach our children by ensuring challenging, playful opportunities across the Peak and Exact areas of learning and development.

Even after school’s out for the day, we engaged our children in a comfortable, yet stimulating child care environment. Our before- and after-school child care program allows early years and school-age children to balance learning and fun through a variety of experiences.
