On the 1st of October 2022, Clasam Academy celebrated Nigeria’s Independence Day with great pomp and excitement. The event was organized to celebrate the nation’s freedom from colonial rule, and it was a day to showcase the unity and diversity of the students in the school.

One of the notable aspects of the celebration was the display of cultural diversity among the students. The students came dressed in their traditional attire, waving the flag of the country while showcasing the beauty and richness of its cultural heritage. From the Hausa-Fulani in the North to the Igbo and Yoruba in the South, the students displayed the cultural diversity which is the hallmark of Nigeria.

As part of the celebration, there were various activities such as cultural dance performances, poetry recitation, recitation of the national anthem while waving the Nigeria flag and a short play to display their talents and creativity as well as educate themselves that they are one Nigeria regardless of cultural diversity. They competed in these activities, demonstrating their love for their country and their commitment to its progress.

The performance was very exciting showcased the various traditional dances of Nigeria, including the Bata dance, atilogwu dance, Dandaura dance, Binu dance, Ekwe dance amongst others. The poetry recitation and the play were centered on the theme of unity in diversity, emphasizing the need for Nigerians to come together and work towards the greatness and progress of the nation.

The celebration of Nigeria’s Independence Day at Clasam Academy was a testimony to the school’s commitment to instilling patriotism and national consciousness in its students.
